And back home…

So it ended up being a long day yesterday, in part because the train had an issue last night with the locomotive that left us hanging out at the station in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph for about 45 minutes while they got that sorted.

The good news is that the time allowed me to finish a chapter of WASAD (snippet in the pics), bringing my total words for the day up to something between 4,000-5,000 words, which is pretty good all things considered.

Stay tuned for the dark academia chapter that I finished yesterday and probably the WASAD chapter too (though I have to check to see what the last chapter I posted was). Until then, enjoy the mild photo dump.

As a note, the deer skeleton there is an Irish Deer, the largest deer species to ever live. I may be considering its inclusion in some flavor of Awakenings shenanigans. We shall see. There are a few snaps from the Field Museum collection (including the Lions of Tsavo) and then a bookstore, “goth” Target (actually the Target inside the Sullivan Building on State Street) and the Great Hall at Chicago Union Station (I look forward to seeing if it’s decorated for the holidays in November when I come back into town).
