“Why would your parents do something like that to you?”

“I don’t know.  Maybe because they hate me.  Why does it matter?”

“I don’t know.  I guess it doesn’t, but–”

“Then why are we having this conversation?”

“I–”

“Right.  Moving on.”

Happy New Year, everyone!  As we say farewell to the old and ring in the new and celebrate new beginnings, I give you the first prompt of 365 Days of Writing Prompts.
