My brand-new niece is one week old today.  Happy one week anniversary of your birth, Miss Anna Joan!

Now on to what you’re waiting for — today’s prompt.

It’s a Friday and another new prompt type for folks! This one is a new twist on using Kim Freimoeller’s Inspiration Dice.

  2. Have your characters hit a dead end — and then end up on the run

Prompt for January 16, 2014 – Day 16

Happy Thursday–only two work days left in the week if you’re like me and have a MTWThF day job.

Today’s prompt is a new one, partially inspired by my dearly beloved sister-in-law Natalie, who we joke about wanting to be shipwrecked or otherwise trapped with simply due to what can be found in her purse.

Prompt type: Toolbox

Prompt: Come up with a character who might have the following array of items in a purse, backpack, their trunk, etc–then write a scene in which they use some (or all) of these items to save the day.

  1. Insulin
  2. Two pence, five pennies, a nickel, a pound sterling, and one gold dollar
  3. Dental floss
  4. Sugar-free mint gum
  5. A Swiss Army knife
  6. A cellular phone with 2% battery life left
  7. A D-cell battery
